This allows you to test the engine cooling system for leaks under excess pressure. In some cases, it can also be used to check whether the cylinder head gasket is leaking. In my case, I heard a characteristic hissing sound in the spark plug wells of cylinders two and three under excessive pressure in the cooling system. Therefore, the cylinder head gasket needed to be replaced and then resurfaced.
