Today I have with me, David Burnett. Dave is the head of business development at Zero Biometrics.

They design zero-knowledge face authentication solutions that don’t rely on biometric stored data. Unlike all traditional biometrics, registration and identification/verification are required to store a biometric template for onward matching. These templates are sensitive, not revocable and pose risks in the event of a data breach. This is why companies have to protect your biometric data, whether on your phone or in the cloud.

ZeroBiometric’s technology generates stable and repeatable biometric bits directly from the capture devices to create a True Biometric Hash which does not require a store biometric template for matching. The hash codes generated are revocable anytime. Encryption keys for any data can be generated from these true biometric hashes.

The platform has the ability to bridge traditional biometrics and cryptography together to enable safe and secured biometric deployment in the Digital Identity and Cloud space. It also helps reduce the complexities and costs of adding layers of encryption to traditional biometric systems.

The company is focused on its ZeroFace solution for face authentication and has implementations for fingerprint and iris. The core technology is independent of biometric modality and can be extended to voice and palm, among others.
