To decrease the space between a bullet and the text in a Google Docs list, the first thing you need to do is make sure the ruler is showing. Enable the ruler, then highlight the list. Notice the little rectangle; bring that right over to the upside-down triangle. This reduces the space between the bullets and the text in the Google Docs list.
