Stand Analysis || ATUM EXPLAINED - Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders
The Stand of Terence T. D'arby is Atum, named after the Egyptian God of the same name. Atum is a Stand that can completely rip a soul from the body once the soul's energy weakens to a level low enough to be stolen. Terence T. D'arby is an enemy working closely to DIO that the Stardust Crusaders must battle in Part 3, wagering their souls in a battle of video game skills. However, Atum has a secret ability that Terence T. D'arby likes to keep hidden.

Terence T. D'arby and his brother Daniel J. D'arby are 2 gambling brothers who entered DIO's hiding place in Cairo and received Stands based on the Egyptian Gods. Terence received Atum, and Daniel received Osiris. Both Stands having almost identical powers due to them being blood related.
Atum is able to view another person's soul with the visuals representing some sort of thermal aura. If Terence T. D'arby asks the person a question, the aura will tell him whether it is a yes or no question. Atum's ability is almost flawless in a gambling match where Terence's gaming abilities are able to be utilized.
First Terence T. D'arby took on Kakyoin in a racing game; F-Mega. He used Atum to speedily press the buttons to gain the advantage. In this game, he used Atum's soul reading abilities very discreetly, not giving anything away. When Kakyoin gave up in his heart and soul, his soul was ripped from it's body and Atum placed it inside one of Terence T. D'arby's handmade dolls.
Atum is an interesting Stand but not one of my favourites. It is too similar to Osiris in it's abilities to really stand out to me (pun totally intended). What differed in the fights with the D'arby brothers was the battle method. Daniel gambled souls with various different games such as poker, but he was also a cheater.
Terence T. D'arby on the other hand doesn't physically cheat, but uses his Stand Atum to read the souls of others to see what they are going to do. In essence, he isn't cheating but using his stand to gain an advantage.
In this Stand Analysis video we explore Atum and explain how its power works. Yes I know Part 3 Stands are not overly complicated, but this is something I want to work on. I want to eventually do a Stand Analysis video on all Stands in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
This includes all of Part 3's Stands. Or at least the main ones. I'm not sure I could really do a Stand Analysis video on Jonathan's Stand or on Holy's Stand as they didn't really show any powers, and were only on-screen/on-page briefly.
Let me know in the comments what Stand Analysis video you might want me to do next. I plan to branch out very soon from Part 3 and possibly focus on a Part 5 or Part 6 Stand.
