Three applications of Geometric Series
Geometric series appear in many cases. We look at an example in statistics, economics and music. As for stats, the geometric distribution needs the geometric series formula to justify that it is a probability distribution. In economics, one can use the geometric series to give a dynamical interpretation of income, the music scale is a geometric procession. We can for example add up all the frequencies which a piano produces. This is a finite geometric sum.
