How to know your raspberry pi overheating?
A thermometer symbol shows up on your raspberry pi, it means the temperature is more than 80 degrees.
The CPU in your Raspberry Pi can get appreciably hot even under normal load, there are a number of other parts of the board that heat up to the point they are uncomfortable to touch.
Why is throttling bad?
1. Throttling prevents you from getting the full CPU speed the Pi can offer, meaning things that you're doing will take longer.
2. It indicates that parts inside the Pi (usually just CPU, but likely other parts) are getting hot enough to reach their own internal safety limits. If you run computing hardware at its thermal capacity for long periods of time, this will cause more wear on the parts than if they are run well inside their limits.
