Doctor Indicted For Exposing Secret Child Transgender Program
When I interviewed Dr. Eithan Haim and his lawyer, Marcella Burke, earlier this year, he was under investigation by the Department of Health and Human Services for alleged HIPAA violations resulting from his anonymous whistleblowing activities. While working at Texas Children’s Hospital, he became aware of childhood gender transition procedures that the hospital had publicly denied performing. Dr. Haim worked with journalist Christopher Rufo to expose the unethical and illegal practices as responsibly as possible. This past week, the Department of Justice indicted him on four felony counts related to his alleged violation of medical record laws. He and his lawyer remain confident that the legal process will vindicate his decision to expose misconduct at his former workplace.
