Ryan Easterly is executive director of the WITH Foundation and has significant experience as a grant maker, strategist, and advocate. In this video interview, he elaborates on why philanthropy needs to be more inclusive of disability in all areas of funding.

“Philanthropy needs to do a better job reflecting society and communities in general. I encourage foundations and funders to really consider the scope of disability and the aspects of life that it touches on. Sometimes disability doesn’t have a seat at the table. If you are a health funder, you should care about disability. If you are funding education issues, you should care about disability.

I’m hard-pressed to think of an issue that a funder, a foundation, could care about and want to have an impact on that doesn’t include disability.”
