Pixelsncodes Lumen is a free open-source Windows synth and standalone app that turns images into sound. It uses a wavetable engine with an image-to-tone system called Lens, plus two wavetable oscillators and real-time visual control.
Wavelet Audio Runa: Free Edition is a free Kontakt Player string library built from the kobyz, a two-string Central Asian bowed instrument. It includes sustain and staccato articulations, true legato, rebow legato, trills, snapshots, and works through Native Access.
Different Instruments PartialString is a free physical modeling synth for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It simulates a plucked string in real time using FDTD, with up to ten voices, adjustable excitation position/shape, and a moving virtual sensor for extra motion.
