Hyperlinking in EverWeb is Easy and Flexible, Just Click!

A hyperlink is a piece of text or an object, such as an image, that when clicked upon will take you to either:

another part of the page you are currently on,
to another page in your website,
to another website altogether,
Or it will open a file
or your email application.

Hyperlinking an object in EverWeb is very easy to do.

Select the object that you want to be the link, then click on the Hyperlink tab in the Inspector Window.

Check the box ‘Enable as Hyperlink’ to activate the hyperlink features.

You can now select where you want to link the object to.

You can link to one of the pages in your website by selecting ‘One of My Pages’.Choose the page you want to link to from the drop down menu in the ‘Page’ field.

If you want to link to a page in another website use the ‘An External Page’ option. Type in the URL that you would like to link to.

If you want the link to open in a new window when the user clicks on the link, select the option to Open in New Window.

EverWeb also lets you link to a file. Select the file you want by clicking on the Choose… button and selecting the file you want to link to.

When using the ‘One of My Pages’, ‘An External Page’ and ‘To a File’ options, use the ‘Behaviour’ field to open the linked page or file in either the ‘Default' current browser window, in a new browser window, or in a popup window.

The ‘Link To’ option can also open a link to a new email message. Add the destination email address in to the ‘To’ field and the email subject header in to the ‘Subject’ field.

When a visitor clicks on the hyperlink, their default email client will open with the send to email address and subject header already filled in.

If your hyperlink is a piece of text, you can format the link text. You can change the color for how the text will normally appear, how the text appears when the visitor hovers their cursor over the link, and how the link appears if the visitor has already clicked on the link.

Use the color swatch or color wheel to select the color you want for each Hyperlink conditions.

If you want to underline the link, or remove an underlined link, select the whole link then click on the underlined ‘U’ toggle button.
