For years I'd heard people talking about hierarchies in the Yoruba religion, and finally, someone explained to me who's who, reiterating that everything has its own rhythm and steps, and that both the Santero and the Babalawo need each other.
The Santero is the person who initiates someone into the priesthood. The Babalawo is the Ifá priest; all are brothers in the same religion.
