Tektronix TDS5000 series scope. I focus on general use as I was just playing with this scope. This scope can do most of what earlier top of the line TDS scopes could do though this scope is much more capable in signal analysis/decoding. I did not demonstrate this at all in the video. When off this is one of the ugliest looking scopes that tek produced. It is not nearly as deep as a tds7000/6000, not to bad noise wise but you do sigh in relief a bit when you shut it down after a few hours of use. Most scopes not running DPO, even with infinite persistence, are only showing some small percentage of the actual waveform. DPO turns this upside down , most acquisition are included in the displayed waveform. DPO=InstaVu=Fast Acquisition; different chip sets true, just mostly marketing terms.
The display also does temperature grading, if you prefer the look of the TDS700D's, quite nice. The TDS5000's, though not as compact, are much more powerful platforms than say the TDS3000.
