The Zelda fanbase was caught completely off guard when Breath of the Wild's E3 trailer opened with the words "Open your eyes," revealing that the new game will feature some voice acting. A radical departure from series convention, the inclusion of voices in a Zelda game has caused some fans to question the intentions behind this new feature and consider the impact it will have on the game.
What About Link?
I personally agree with Aonuma's decision to leave Link silent, as voice acting could have caused me to feel emotionally disconnected from the green-clad hero. But after reading about Aonuma's strong reaction to the voices that are in the game, I am excited to hear those moments for myself.
