In this tutorial, we will guide you step by step on how to create a Lost & Found application using Airtable and Glide. This powerful app is designed to assist staff at live events in efficiently managing lost and found items throughout the site.
With Airtable as the foundation, we create two tables - one for items that are lost and another for items that have been found. Within Glide, we style and name tabs for these tables, providing a user-friendly interface for easy navigation.
Volunteers are able to add new rows through the app, allowing them to post lost items along with their contact details. Customizing controls on a form screen, we make it effortless for users to add entry components and tailor the app to their specific needs.
To streamline the process of item return, we introduce a switch component that indicates whether an item has been returned or not. This feature enables easy filtering of returned items from the main list, providing clear visibility for staff.
For the 'Found' tab, we utilize a tiles layout to display item details - including images, the place of finding, and the current location. Only items that have not been returned are shown, ensuring users can easily track their lost belongings.
