In this video, I will attempt tri color gum dichromate printing. In the early days of color photography, colors are obtained using the additive mixing method. The three primary colors of light are red, green and blue. When these colors are mixed together, they produce white light. However when different combinations of these primary colors can be used to produce all the colors in the visible spectrum.
I shot 3 sheets of 4x5 Shanghai black and white negatives using 3 different filters - red, green and blue. Then I tried to make them into a color photo using 2 methods :
1. Digitally in Photoshop
2. doing a tri color gum dichromate prints.
This is my first attempt in doing a tri color gum dichromate print and I have learnt much from online articles, videos and from this book 'The Book of Alternative Photographic Processes' - highly recommended for anyone interestedi n the various printing processes.
