This is a list of some #plugins that despite having been created a long time ago (in software years of course) they are still top of the line and can be found in practically all our sessions (and many other engineers), there's also a chance that we will still be using them in the year 2091.
A clear advantage is that as these plugins were designed to run on much less powerful systems they have a minimal consumption in modern computers.

1- Waves C4: Although there is a more advanced version (C6) that contains two additional floating bands similar to a dynamic EQ, in many cases 4 bands is enough and easier (big typo in the video) to use. Our favorite preset is Upward Comp +3dB.

2- SansAmp PSA-1: Included free with #ProTools, this plugin only works in AAX format. After trying many of the more hyped bass amp sims the old SansAmp always wins since it offers controls that go beyond those of a real amp. Many professional engineers will not let us lie.

3- Loom Classic: This plugin has dropped considerably in price thanks to the end of year promotions, as well as the upgrade to v.2. Like all AIR Music Technology products this synth is of the highest quality and is in our opinion a must have in the arsenal of every music producer.

4- #Waves L2 Ultramaximizer: A classic, this limiter lives as the last insert in the Master of all our templates. Generally we do not use it to increase the final volume of our mixes (Atten usually does not go beyond -2dB) but as a prevention method after a multiband limiter.

5- Waves L1: The grandfather of all limiters. We use it in independent channels to control the peaks and in many cases as a compressor itself. We always use the Link button to lower the threshold at the same time as the output volume and thus not increase the volume due to the automatic gain compensation.

6- Amplitube: This plugin has the advantage that you can buy only the gear you need. To date, the AC30, the Hiwatt and the JC120 are our favorite plug versions of these amplifiers. Extremely recommended package for session guitarists on a budget: British Invasion.

7- RComp: One of the easiest to use single band compressors that has made it our main option to do sidechain compression between the bass and the kick or as in this case to duck delay and reverb returns while the main track is playing.

8- Tel Ray: This plugin appears in all our end of the year videos and it may continue to appear for many years to come. In our opinion it is the best delay/ambience for guitars that exists. It only works in Pro Tools.

9- L3 Multimaximizer: This is the multiband limiter that we talked about in number 4. This and L2-16 are the processors that we use to obtain the final volume increase in our tracks. The advantage is that by having several independent compression bands the plugin is able to control the peaks in the areas where they occur without affecting (pump) the rest of the spectrum.

Buying L3-16 gets you the whole L3 line including Multimaximizer: https://waves.7eer.net/c/1321769/2868...
