The world economy is developing continuously. The advancement of science, technology, management, and logistics promotes the expansion of economies around the world. In the nineteenth century, European countries dominated, while in the twentieth century is the domination of the US economy. The 21st century is considered the century of Asia. Of the world's top 40 economies, by PPP, more than half are from Asia. China and India are the two largest economies in the world. The United States will occupy the 3rd place. Indonesia and Japan are other strong Asian economies.
Asia comprises more than 4.5 billion people, accounting for 60% of the world population, living in 49 different nations and dependencies. Asia is the fastest-growing economic region, as well as the largest continental economy by both GDP Nominal and PPP in the world. As in all world regions, the wealth of Asia differs widely between, and within, states. This is due to its vast size, meaning a huge range of different cultures, environments, historical ties, and government systems. 85% of Asia's GDP is distributed in #the10largest economies. The economic scale of the region is constantly increasing.
Africa is a rich-resource continent, where 1.3 billion people are living in 54 countries. Compared to other continents, the GDP per capita in Africa is relatively low. However, the economies of many countries have improved in recent years, creating favorable conditions to improve the living conditions of people.
The Americas is a landmass comprising the totality of North and South America. #Americas, especially North America is an important economic center of the world. The continent is the home of approx. one billion inhabitants living in 35 countries and several dependent territories. The Americas shares the largest global GDP, which reaches 26.7 trillion in 2020. Canada and the United States are among the wealthiest and most developed nations in the world, and countries of Central America and the Caribbean in former Latin America are less developed.
#Europe is an important economic center of the world. It is the second largest economy in the world in nominal terms, after the United States, and the third one in purchasing power parity (PPP) terms, after China and the United States. The European Union's #GDP was estimated to be around $15 trillion (nominal) in 2020, representing around 1/6 of the global economy.
