✯ Personal & Company History ✯
My name is David! I am the sole proprietor of iNihil currently. I founded iNihil in 2020. The reason I started a company was to continue on in my mother’s path. She had a small single operator company that I totally failed to understand while I had the chance. Essentially, it was a vehicle for her art. She was a strong supporter of the local art gallery. I decided the best way to remember her is to continue where she left off. That being said, I’m slowly learning how to fuse glass like my mother did before me. She had been teaching me on & off for 10 years. I have years of handwritten notes to continue sifting through. I’ve found crafting art gives me a very therapeutic-esque effect.. I can only hope my efforts bring someone else joy.
My approach to business is to be as non-invasive as possible. We will never sell your personal information. We would only collect it for a newsletter which is made solely for distributing coupons or for making a purchase in my store. The store is not open right now.. However, you could see a placeholder store on the website. There will be no advertising on my domain. No monetization whatsoever; besides your direct support by way of donation or by purchasing a physical product from the store. The goal for “monetization” is through selling physical projects or by selling services on Fiverr. Or possible sponsorships if I actually grow :) Not likely after using that emoji.
If you have any problems with iNihil.com; I have a Discord Server that is setup as predominantly a means of providing a Ticket System for support. The Discord server is INCREDIBLY new; literally no one is in it yet! My goal is to have it be the community base but hey; one step at a time! I’m only one guy! If you are actually reading this far into my Youtube description of my first video then you need to check out the discord link! I mean; strike while the iron is hot, no? Both the Discord server & the Subreddit are completely baron as they are brand new. However, I promise to stick with Discord. I’m certain I can integrate them together in the future.. Just providing all details to those that want to know.
The name iNihil means literally, “i nothing.” I should say my undergrad was in Philosophy so I’m going to over explain & use poor grammar more, often, than, not. The lowercase “i” is to imply a distancing from the identity of self. Coupled with the concept of “nothing” I hope to conjure a dark aesthetic constructed by none-other than your own mind! I’m an amateur quantum physicists enthusiast & firmly believe in the ‘many worlds’ interpretation. Wow, that sounds so new agey. Luckily, odds are highly against a staunch Copenhagen Interpretivist reading these words anytime soon. Always planning for the monkeys on keyboards though.
I am currently learning how to cast Resin, sculpt resin using Dremel tips, & airbrushing. I plan on moving into 3D Printing & Kilnwork down the line. I’m focusing on things that I enjoy doing on a moment to moment timescale. Even further down the line I hope to forge metals & CNC.
