The philosopher Albert Camus noticed that there were two ways to commit suicide. One being physically and the other philosophically. In his essay, The Myth of Sisyphus, Camus addresses a fundamental condition that we're all in--of being meaning searchers in a universe void of inherent meaning. He called this condition the Absurd. And in acknowledging this, we have the opportunity to respond as Sisyphus did: to affirm life despite it's absurdity. That is the essence of avoiding philosophical suicide.
