It's Week 2 of Sci Notes November!
This week, we are excited to release Sci Notes: Civil Engineering!
This episode, featuring NSWC PCD Engineer Minnie Kinard, highlights the importance of civil engineering in our society. From the development of innovative bridge design to undersea construction to materials sciences, civil engineers play a critical role in society. Through this video, students will be able to see first-hand how civil engineers combine knowledge of all science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines to help (literally) shape the world around us!
Sci Notes is a five-part STEM video series developed under an Education Partnership Agreement between NSWC PCD and Florida State University Panama City. Each episode highlights a different STEM discipline including Chemistry, Meteorology, Marine Science, Physics, and Civil Engineering. The goal of the series is to provide students with virtual STEM learning opportunities, as well as ideas about how to explore STEM at home.
