SOLVED thanks to A CHAT on FACEBOOK | The terrible CASE of TIAHLEIGH PALMER
On November 5, 2015, a fisherman, while he was along the banks of the Pimpama River, in south-east Queensland, noticed something strange among the debris near the shore. Intrigued, he approached and, to his horror, realized that it was a body partially immersed in the water. The head and arms were submerged, while part of the torso was sticking out from between the branches and the mud. Shocked, the man immediately notified the police.
The officers, having arrived on the scene, isolated the area and began to collect clues with the utmost attention. The body belonged to a young girl, and was already in an advanced state of decomposition due to the time that had passed and the environmental conditions. Establishing the cause of death with certainty proved impossible, although strangulation was immediately hypothesized. The victim was still wearing part of her underwear, dirty and deteriorated. No clothing or personal effects that could help trace her identity were found at the scene.
Despite this, it took only a few hours to give a name to that lifeless face: it was Tiahleigh Palmer, a twelve-year-old who had disappeared from school six days earlier. The tragic discovery confirmed the community's fears and gave rise to a deep and intense investigation. Everyone was convinced that a monster was lurking in the city. The truth, however, was very different and even more disturbing.
