100 YEARS OF HORROR #33: The White Reindeer (1952)
Two of Finland's most famous horror films both released in 1952, The Witch, and The White Reindeer. The latter of these movies is the focus for this episode, observing it's stunning Lapland locations, regional folklore inspirations and fairytale fantasy vibes.
The White Reindeer's plot concerns Pirita, a newlywed woman who seeks out a shaman in order to improve her lovelife. A curse befalls Pirita, who now shapeshifts into a vampiric white reindeer and preys on the local herders and hunters.
