What were Palpatine's thoughts as he tumbled down the death star reactor shaft?
Much to Palpatine's surprise, his once completely loyal apprentice would rise up against him and throw him down the death star's reactor shaft. Of course, during this moment, Palpatine was filled with various dark side emotions from anger to hate. However one emotion dominated the Emperor's thinking, his desire for revenge. As explored in the Timothy Zhan book, the last command, Palpatine used the force to issue one final command to the emperor's hand, a group of force sensitive assassin's that included Luke Skywalkers future wife, Mara Jade. This final order was designed to get revenge against both Luke and Anakin and was very clear. The last command stated that Luke Skywalker must be killed, this being his last thought before he exploded at the bottom of the reactor shaft.
