Tracheostomy Surgery
Tracheostomy surgery, often referred to as a tracheostomy procedure or tracheotomy, is a surgical operation that involves creating a hole (stoma) in the front of the neck and into the windpipe (trachea).
This surgical procedure is performed for various medical reasons when a patient is unable to breathe effectively through their nose or mouth and requires a direct airway to the trachea.
