In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to integrate OneDrive directly into Ubuntu using GNOME Online Accounts, giving you seamless cloud storage access and automatic file syncing directly inside the Linux file manager.

This method works without third-party sync clients or complicated scripts and is ideal for Ubuntu and other GNOME-based Linux distributions.

Step-by-step guide

Step 1 — Enable OneDrive in GNOME Online Accounts

• Open the Settings application
• Navigate to Online Accounts
• Click Microsoft 365

Inside the login window:
• Click “Sign in…” and leave the fields blank
• A web browser window will open automatically
• Sign in with your Microsoft account
• Approve the GNOME OAuth2 Handler when prompted

Once complete:
• Your Microsoft 365 account will appear in GNOME Online Accounts
• Ensure “Files” is enabled

Step 2 — Access OneDrive from Ubuntu Files
