Streaming is great but playing a movie off a disc is still fun and if I could put a laserdisc or vhs into my raspberry pi I would certainly give it a go but for now lets play with blu-ray and dvds on the raspberry pi with vlc media player.

how to install:
open terminal: ctrl+alt+t
sudo apt-get install libdvd-pkg
will probably have to run (if you get any errors at the end)
sudo dpkg-reconfigure libdvd-pkg
sudo apt-get install vlc
sudo apt-get install libaacs0
sudo apt-get install libbluray-bdj
(this one still trying to find alternative but so far not needed: sudo apt-get install libbluray1 )
mkdir -p ~/.config/aacs/

Open web browser or use get to get the file:
https://vlc-bluray.whoknowsmy.name/fi...

then in terminal again type:
cd Downloads
sudo mv KEYDB.cfg ~/.config/aacs/

Then you should be able to play blu-ray discs.
