FreeBird One FPV in 45-50MPH Winds - Very Stable!
For this video, we moved the top rear-mounted GoPro gimbal and mounted it below the frame on the front to provide a more traditional camera vantage point from drone. This video was made on the same day as the related "FreeBird One Conquers 50+MPH Winds". Wind gusts were slightly lower during this recording, but did hit 50MPH briefly in the sub-clips in this video. Still, they ranged between 45-50MPH for the remainder of the clips.
This vantage point takes the noise of the vehicle moving around while still providing the HUD to show what's happening above the camera. What we hope to demonstrate here is how stable the image is as the gusts of wind are hitting FreeBird One. Despite these gusts, we are still able to get a fairly stable video of the swaying trees in the background.
For much of the video, you can also see the shadow of FreeBird One off to the left. The low, late afternoon sun gave us a little bonus to illustrate how stable FreeBird One's position remains during these gusts.
