In this episode of Data Crunch, Dr Lau and Reuben discuss the programming languages used by data scientists in Malaysia who works in the industry.

Python is a general, multi-paradigm programming language which does not need much computing power to use. This means you can even set it up with a Raspberry Pi computer and use it.

R is a programming language developed by statisticians. You may find that the software environment to be more towards statistical computing.

SQL itself is not a programming language, but more so a database management language for relational databases. People who want to become serious data scientists should be able to understand and utilize SQL.
