Join Arash in this insightful interview as he discusses his groundbreaking research in computational design, focusing on the role of computation in the design process. As an expert in architecture and computational thinking, Arash explains how computation can inform and reimagine design practices, going beyond mere representation to make more informed design decisions. Discover how he's using the power of computation to develop spatial learning tools for K-12 children, teaching them computational thinking and problem-solving skills.

In this presentation, Arash unveils a revolutionary learning tool for children, designed to tackle complex problems like climate crisis collaboratively. By breaking down challenges into manageable parts, children can work as a team, making more informed decisions to solve problems effectively. As an associate professor at Woodbury University and chair of the design computation program, Arash also explores how computational thinking can shape higher education design curricula.

Learn about the exciting results from testing these learning tools in multiple middle schools across different states. Arash's ongoing project aims to create a one-to-one scale pavilion structure that allows children to immerse themselves in problem-solving, integrating spatial reasoning and computational thinking.
