Just opened in the recently spruced up Packard building by a Tulio/El Goucho vet, this 63-seater (named for an ancient Roman historian/satirist) is serving caffeinated/alcoholic beverages, plus Roman-inspired small plates, in a swinging '60s-ish space that's scattered with contemporary wood booths/banquettes, dominated by a massive b/w mural with figures/scenes from Italian culture (including Fellini, etc.) and painted in a playful nod to Mod-style, presumably using black, white, and blonde. Their massive list of intoxicants boasts Boot-based vinos and liqueurs, plus a grip of specialty 'tails ranging from the whiskey/ Averno amaro/ blood orange Amaro Di Americano, to the prosecco/ Ciro vodka/ Cointreau-based Hill, which Wesley Snipes takes with Sugar. On the eats front there's greens (the blood orange/ arugula/ apple/ orange oregano vinaigrette Pop's Salad), pasta (baked rigatoni), seafood (roasted clams), and meatier options like a braised pork belly number w/ lentils & Tuscan cabbage called the Belly, which, for obvious reasons, has gotten a ton of Hype (Williams).
