Hi everyone!
My name is Candy, and I’m the creator behind Velvet Gramophone Society.
This video originally started as a simple 1-hour loop with a single animated image... but it unexpectedly turned into a 2-hour experience with a little story woven in.
It all began because I was struggling to get a good looping animation. So I thought, “Hey, maybe I’ll just use a few different images — you know, scenes of people riding the train: looking at their tablets, talking on the phone… I’ve even crocheted on the train myself!”
Then I thought, well, if I’m showing what people do on the train, maybe I should show the train itself. And of course, once I had the train, I had to show people getting on... and, well, here we are.
This project grew a lot, but I really enjoyed making it. I’d love to hear what you think.
