Three years after the incident, Sucita and her younger brother returned to Kautan Village, Banyuwangi. She was attending a relative's wedding. As night fell, as she was sleeping, she was awakened by a 70-year-old woman in shabby clothes. She addressed Sucita as Raden. In the silence, the woman invited Wayan Sucita to her house. She saw an ancient gate and invited him inside. Inside, the woman informed her that Wayan Sucita was not of pure Balinese descent but of Javanese descent and asked her to walk south to the tip of Java.
