In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, he explains how this special look-and-feel is produced: “The lime in the paint is white, so the variation in color that shows up has to do with the contrast between the pigment and the white lime. Light shades will be soft and understated, while mid-tone to deeper colors will show more texture and variation.”
