These are scripts I made for building and filling room tone quickly.
In the example you see a series of regions separated by gaps I need to fill these with room tone. I copy a region to the next track that I am going to search for dead air.
At about 4 seconds in, you can see that rather than use the trimmer tool, I pick an ambiguous spot with the selector, hit my shortcut (I have it bound to a&s together) and it pulls it out to that point. I do the same to the side with shortcut d&f together, then finally I show my shortcut s&d which pulls out the audio on both ends. This works much faster than searching with the trim tool.
After I have found my piece of dead air (at about 14 seconds in the video), I discover that its rather short. My next script automatically doubles the audio, reverses the second region and comps it all together giving me twice the amount of room tone to work with.
To fill those spots I have a few options. The first option I show auto fills the room tone. I hit one key combo and it automatically fills those gaps.
The other option I have is auto filling just one gap at a time. I put the cursor in the region before the gap, hit the shortcut and it auto highlights and fills just the one gap.
