If you're tired of buying different hats for every occasion, if you're constantly switching between favorite sports teams, or if you want a flashy, versatile, and unique hat that no one else has, then we'll show you how to make a relatively easy, customizable hat that can display any combination of colors, images, and animations that you can fit into an 8x8 LED display.
This project is made with a flexible Neopixel LED 8x8 matrix and Adafruit Flora board (compatible with the Arduino IDE). The hat can be programmed using a standard computer and the code we've provided on the hackster.io page. You can also use a standard Arduino Mini, Adafruit Fona, or any other Arduino compatible board that can be powered by a small battery for this project.
See how we built it, including our materials, code, and supplemental instructions, on Hackster.io: https://www.hackster.io/hackershack/c...
