Are you planning to buy a car and struggling with the configurator? In this video, I'll tell you which extras ARE worth paying for and which AREN'T, based on a very simple criterion: what improves your life every day… versus what sounds good in the catalog but usually comes at a price in terms of comfort, maintenance, or real-world use.
There are no hard and fast rules here: this is my professional experience after years of testing cars and seeing what you truly benefit from over the miles. If you're looking at a new or used car, this will help you make an informed decision without regrets.
Extras that, in my opinion, ARE worth it (if they fit your needs):
• Leather steering wheel: you'll be touching it all the time.
• Automatic headlights: comfort and safety, especially if they're properly calibrated.
• Massaging seats: if you drive a lot of miles, this can make a difference.
• Sunroof: light, a feeling of spaciousness, and "real-world" use if you're going to take advantage of it.
Extras that, for normal use, often DON'T pay off
• Sport suspensions: usually reduce comfort and don't offer much outside of very specific uses.
• Leather seats: great look, but they don't always improve thermal comfort or everyday usability.
• Large rims with low-profile tires: harsher ride, easier to damage rims/tires, and often more expensive to maintain.
My quick rule for choosing extras: Pay for what you use and touch daily. Be wary of things that only look good on the outside.
