OSPF Deep Dive: Understanding External Routes (Type 1 & Type 2)
OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) is a routing protocol used in computer networks to determine the best path for routing data packets. OSPF has different types of routes, including external routes, which are routes learned from outside the OSPF domain.
OSPF external routes are categorized into two types: Type 1 (E1) and Type 2 (E2)

OSPF External Type 1 routes are treated as if they were internal OSPF routes with variable path costs, while OSPF External Type 2 routes have a fixed path cost.
