Photoscan Textures are great, but they restrain our freedom to be creative unless we import these textures inside Substance Designer.
In Substance, we can mix our material with the one we have scanned and it has to be done in 2 steps:
1️⃣ Blend your Height data with one of the Scanned textures, this should be really soft as the imported Height Map is in 8 bits.
2️⃣ Blend your normal using a Normal Blend node and a proper mask, allowing us to get the best out of both worlds.
❓ What are the advantages?
Quick, efficient, and easy. But when it comes to matching your material with the scanned data, it becomes really hard...
If you don't match the level of realism, it will become obvious of the difference and feel like something is off.
