The Europa Universalis series needs no introduction – it's a veteran of the strategy genre. Players control an entire nation, whose well-being and prosperity depend entirely on three pillars: economics, politics, and successful military operations. The series' appearance has changed little over the years, but this is in no way a criticism or a dig at the creators. Europa Universalis is a representative of the breed of games where polishing gameplay is more important than bold innovations.
