This was easily the hardest hike I've ever done short of mountaineering. Grueling elevation gain covering a plethora of environments and terrain. Beginning with lush old growth forest with temptingly climbable boulders. After hitting the lower campground, the true climb begins and its not for the faint of heart (especially if you have a heavy pack). The reward however, is well worth it. The summit camp is breathtaking. Possibly the most photogenic place I've camped yet. At the end of the trip I finished with over 11 miles, and 5600ft of gain.
