In today's tutorial, we're upgrading to the latest AR.IO Gateway release. First, check your current version at localhost Port 3000/ar-io/info. I found myself on release five but aimed for release six. Inside your AR.IO repository, a simple Git pull fetches the latest updates. Encounter a Git error? Likely it's due to local edits. Use Git Stash to sideline these changes, as the gateway's code usually doesn't need modifications to run.
If your release ends in "-pre," it means you're on the dev branch. Switch to the main branch with Git Checkout main for stable versions. Post-update, bring down your gateway with Docker Compose down, adding "--rmi all" to clear old Docker images. Restart it using sudo Docker compose up -D, no build flag needed as Docker builds automatically. Verify your successful upgrade to release six with Curl. This streamlined process ensures your gateway stays current, with any future changes clearly announced.
