This is the final development video in the series - our last task is to determine the shear forces and bending moments due to linearly varying distributed loads. We'll spend some time working out how to tackle this by hand before coding up our solution and finishing out our shear force and bending moment diagram calculator.

Engineers often need to build shear force and bending moment diagrams for simple beams subject to complex loads. When done by hand, this is a tedious and time-consuming task…especially when you make a mistake and need to start again!

In this video series, we’ll build a Shear Force and Bending Moment Diagram Calculator. Our calculator will be able to build shear and moment diagrams for statically determinate beams subject to:
✅ Point Loads
✅ Point Moments
✅ Uniformly Distributed Loads
✅ Linearly Varying Distributed Loads

After completing this mini Python Project - you’ll have a helpful and timesaving little tool!

If you’re still learning how to draw shear force and bending moment diagram calculators, you’ll have a way of generating infinite example questions to test yourself against!

You don’t need to be a Python programmer to work through this project. You can pick up the basics of programming in Python by working through this project.
