ASMR Gimbal Rig (tinkering, plastic, fabric, soft speaking)
Autumn is finally upon us, which means it is time at last to turn my attention back to the much-delayed ASMR Iron Bridges video. And THAT means, in preparation, it is time to dig out my mobile video bag to make sure that the gimbal rig is still in good working order (since I haven't used it in a while).
This is a very simple tinkering video, in which I slowly step through the assembly of the gimbal rig that I use for shooting outdoor content for the channel. The rig is like everything else on this channel - a bit of a DIY Frankenstein creation, cobbling together new (the gimbal) and old (the audio recorder and back-up phone) into a rig that gets the job done for me.
I talk a bit about each piece in the rig and why I use it, but this is not a "gear nerd" video or a gimbal review. I like videos that follow a slow process of assembling something, and this is in that vein, with a slow vocal cadence to help you relax whether you know what I'm talking about or not. ;-) Plus, there are quite a few canvas/fabric sounds and plastic crinkle sounds thrown in for good measure.
