How To Fix The Green Screen Issue In VLC Media Player?
1. Identify The Problem - Green screen appears due to hardware acceleration or incorrect video output settings, Open VLC and access Preferences under the Tools menu or press Control plus P, Ensure you are in Simple settings view before adjusting any video options.
2. Change Video Output - Go to the Video section and locate the Output drop-down under Display, Select DirectX, OpenGL, or other options instead of Automatic to fix display, Save changes, close VLC, reopen, and check if your video plays properly.
3. Disable Hardware Acceleration - Open Preferences again and navigate to Input or Codecs for more settings, Find Hardware-accelerated decoding and change from Automatic to Disable option, Save and restart VLC to see if the green screen issue disappears.
4. Update Software And Drivers - Go to Help and select Check for Updates to install the latest VLC build, Update your graphics driver through manufacturer’s site or Windows Update tool, After updates, videos should play normally without green tint or blank screen.
