What PoE switch should you buy?
When it comes to picking a PoE switch for your home network, there are quite a few things you should consider. For example, you should think about:

•How many PoE devices you have in your home network: you will need to provide power to all the PoE devices in your home, and the number of PoE devices you have will dictate the number of ports to get on your PoE switch. You also need to consider if a PoE switch is the best choice based upon the location of your PoE devices

•What version of PoE you need: you need to make sure the PoE switch you buy is compatible with the PoE devices in your home network (e.g. PoE, PoE+, PoE++)

•What level of control you want over your switch: this will help determine if you want to buy a managed or unmanaged PoE switch

•What brand of switch to get: some of the reliable manufacturers for PoE switches include TP-Link Omada, Netgear, and Ubiquiti. I have included some examples of PoE switches from reliable manufacturers above

It’s incredibly important you do some planning before buying a PoE switch for your home network, because the last thing you want to do is leave your PoE devices without enough power to work properly. Selecting the right switch will streamline your home network and ensure your devices work as expected.
