“Let Go” is the apex of the fears of the songs in this album; the fears that I do not have enough time or enough control over the moments within my life, and that I will not be ready when my time comes. I have spent too much time over the course of my life worrying about whether or not I will be able to eventually accept my own mortality, and many of those thoughts are written into this song.

Inside of every moment
I know a time will come
To let this place unravel,
To feel it come undone,
But I can’t find the courage,
I can’t lift my feet to run.
I wash out every word
And wish I could forget that
Running through my hands now
Is all that I have left,
But I can’t see the way out
Or feel the heartbeat in my chest.
P
Communion with
The ash and dust,
A desperate call
Too close to touch,
But at every turn
Nothing was ever enough
C
Oh, every time I open up my eyes
I see a different way,
If there’s a moment left
Then I can’t let it go to waste,
Standing here, at the end of the road
I gave too much to just let go
(Every time I,
Open my eyes,
There is too much
Passing me by
So far from control
How can I let go?)
V
And now in this silence
The hope has left my hands,
I try to chase each minute
In ways I know I can’t
Still, I lose myself in
Every chance I ever had.

A desperate call
Too close to touch,
But at every turn
Nothing was ever enough
