In this video, I show how to make a 3d origami paper ball. This model can serve as a soccer ball, disco ball and any other kind of balls. Choose the color you need and enjoy the result.
This is a modular origami. You will need 12 + 20 identical modules of two different shapes for this model.
The folding instructions should be easy to follow, however, the project is time consuming, and the assembly requires some practice. The ball can be put together without glue / tape. If you decide to use glue, be careful: in case of a mistake, it might be difficult to make a correction, and you might have to redo the whole project. While assembling, it is important to check which way the module is oriented and where the flaps have to be inserted.
12 Pieces of the shape 1 0:00 - 2:07
The paper size used for these modules: 4.1 in x 2.7 in (10.5 cm x 7 cm)
20 Pieces of the shape 2 2:08 - 3:18
The paper size used for these modules: 4.1 in x 2.7 in (10.5 cm x 7 cm)
Assembly 3:19 - 5:20
You can adjust the video speed in the settings or pause the video if I am too slow or fast.
