Webflow Client Editor (Quick look - Pages/Posts)
In this video, I show the client editor of Webflow to give some insight into how simple it is to make changes to your website content and add new blog posts. This video is relevant if you have Webflow clients.
You’ll see how I walk through one of my client’s websites. This is a video I used to send off to a client so they could learn editing basics.
I tend to work with clients that want me to handle the bulk of the work by building the site and making sure to maintain it….basically take care of all the tech stuff.
But they would like to be able to add new blog posts and sometimes make a correction to their existing content.
Of the 3 platforms I’ve used to build websites, WordPress, Squarespace, and Webflow, I find that Webflow makes it very easy for clients to do ONLY the minimum of editing content and adding blogs.
This is helpful in that it can reduce the chances of breaking your site's design and it’s just a more straightforward process because clients only see what they need to see.
Also, the speed performance of Webflow is impressive. They do a lot of things automatically that speed up your website such as optimizing your images, minifying web code and using really good hosting.
The only caveat to Webflow versus something like Squarespace, in my opinion, is that it requires more understanding of how websites are built in order to create a Webflow website. And so this being the case, I normally suggest this platform when I know the client sees me as a partner to their business for the long-haul. If I was just making a quick site and they wanted to have full control after and have no training sessions, they might find it a little overwhelming.
Being said, I mention to clients that you shouldn’t be building a second job for yourself in becoming a web developer. Leave that to the pros and you be pro at your expertise.
