Railsback piano Inharmonicity via PianoMeter tune apps
Playing with PianoMeter piano tuning app and TunerTime and the old Hale Sight O Tuner I. The old piano was first aligned in middle and bass to itself by ear and the old sight o tuner and a stretch chart; not trying to raise the pitch. This is a tall upright at 55 inches so I used the 2 stretch tables and used values between the grand and upright Hale Sight O Tuner 1970s stretch charts.
This 1921 piano has A at 406 Hertz, it was 408 seven years ago. 406Hz is 139 cents lower than 440Hz. 100 cents is between each note if it has equal temperament. The standard was 435 Hz in 1921. Before an serious tuning is to be done more cleaning has to be done to remove the salt marsh grass and crud further. The piano flooded up to the keyboard with salt water in Katrina in 2005.
