Stanford professor and President Trump’s nominee for NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya was censored for challenging the public health consensus during the COVID-19 pandemic, but it turns out he was right. He explains how the Great Barrington Declaration, which he co-authored with scientists from Harvard and Oxford, advocated for "focused protection" of vulnerable populations while allowing society, especially children, to return to normal life. Backed by hard data, Dr. Bhattacharya argues that early in the pandemic, a wildly overestimated infection fatality rate drove public health officials to adopt a policy agenda of societal self-destruction, with much of the burden falling on the most disadvantaged among us.
